Bridgestone Indonesia celebrates 50th anniversary

Jakarta, Indonesia – PT Bridgestone Tire Indonesia (Bridgestone Indonesia), a group company of Bridgestone Corporation, Japan, commemorated its 50th anniversary at a ceremony held in Jakarta on August 24, bringing together key stakeholders and recognizing the invaluable contributions of partners who have played an instrumental role in the company’s growth over the past five decades.
The landmark occasion was attended by His Excellency Mr. Budi Santoso, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, as the guest of honor. The event also brought together government delegates, representatives of GAIKINDO, Indonesia’s automotive industry association, as well as customers, business partners, and other industry leaders.
Marking five decades of commitment to Indonesia, the celebration highlighted Bridgestone Indonesia’s continued focus on innovation, safety, quality, sustainability and customer-centric mobility solutions. It also recognized the strong ecosystem of stakeholders and partners whose collaboration has supported the company’s growth and enabled Bridgestone Indonesia to contribute to the development of Indonesia’s automotive industry.

Bridgestone’s journey in Indonesia began in 1976 with the opening of its first manufacturing plant in Bekasi, West Java. In response to growing demand across Indonesia and neighboring markets, Bridgestone Indonesia expanded its manufacturing footprint with the inauguration of its second plant in Karawang, West Java, in 1999. Equipped with a global-standard proving ground, the facility further strengthened the company’s capabilities and underscored its commitment to supporting the evolving needs of Indonesia’s automotive industry.
Since then, Bridgestone Indonesia has continued to strengthen its local manufacturing capabilities, distribution network and customer offerings across passenger, commercial and specialty tire segments. Today, the company forms an important part of Bridgestone Corporation’s global operations, combining global manufacturing expertise with local market knowledge to serve customers in Indonesia.
